On July 15th, 2025, Constantin Vică (CCEA) and Radu Uszkai (CCEA) delivered a presentation titled “Avatarobots and the Next Crisis of Democracy: A Framework for the Metaverse” at Tilburg Law School, Tilburg University, Netherlands. Held as part of the European project Digital Governance of Internet for Accessible Protected Public Spheres, their work analysed how the integration of avatar-robots (“avatarobots”) into the virtual public sphere poses a fundamental threat to democracy. They proposed a regulatory framework designed to address this emerging crisis and emphasized the need for urgent ethical and legal solutions to safeguard public discourse in virtual environments.
